Take the quieter road
Istria is at its most memorable when you leave room for detours.
Choose one or two hill towns, walk their stone lanes, pause in a gallery or small studio and stay long enough for coffee, lunch or a view that changes with the weather.
Villa Lume can suggest routes around Motovun, Grožnjan, Oprtalj or smaller places depending on whether you want art, food, history, easy walking or simply a beautiful drive.

Practical information
Wear comfortable shoes and avoid the hottest part of summer afternoons. Spring and autumn are ideal; in summer, start before 10:00 or after 16:00. Transport, food, drinks, entry fees and personal purchases are not included.
